Hiya Lars Ø. - I am not sure I am following your question. Motherduck doesn't have a semantic layer but we do support connections with plenty of BI tools that have semantic layers. What kind of workflow are you looking to set up? Or are you more curious about query performance for apps on top of MD?

Hey Marcio - thanks for supporting MotherDuck!! We do support data catalog functionality through having a ton of various ways to access metadata about your databases, query history, and so on. At this time we don't support role based access controls outright but we generally urge users towards a hypertenancy model, where basically each use case has a database which can have its own managed permissions using GRANT/REVOKE commands. As for row/column based security, this is on our roadmap as a top priority along with integrating Motherduck more seamlessly with known SSO providers (Google groups, Okta, etc.) Please let me know if you'd like to dig deeper into any of these topics!
