recently was running into
InvalidInputException: Invalid Input Error: Initialization function "motherduck_duckdb_cpp_init" from file "/home/appuser/.duckdb/extensions/v1.4.2/linux_amd64/motherduck.duckdb_extension" threw an exception: "Invalid Error: Request failed: Could not connect to MotherDuck. Our routing layer experienced a brief service disruption in us-east-1 between 16:50–17:16 UTC that has since been fully resolved. You should no longer be seeing any connection issues. We're digging into the root cause and will follow up with more detail. Please let us know if you're still seeing anything!
Thanks for checking. Currently its going fine 🙂
Hey Rishabh we have completed our investigation on the incident you experienced and want to share this RCA: On September 16 at 16:50 UTC, an internal maintenance process consumed more resources than expected due to an inefficient execution strategy. This starved the capacity that new compute instances need to start up, which surfaced as connection timeouts. We stopped the job at 17:16 UTC, after which service returned to normal. We have since identified and validated a fix that makes this maintenance work run efficiently and prevents it from competing with live query traffic. We know your workloads depend on MotherDuck being consistently available, and we take that seriously. We're sorry for the impact and are continuing to invest in platform stability.
