Troubleshooting Issues with Creating Multi-Sheet Excel Documents and Append Feature in Excel Extension

Afternoon, I seem to be unable to create excel documents with more than one sheet. the 'append' feature doesn't seem to do the thing as on the excel extension github

Hello mrlint! Are you referring to duckdb.org/docs/lts/core_extensions/excel? If so, can you give more detail in to what exactly you're seeing?

Tseegi (. yes. I am referring to github.com/duckdb/duckdb-excel, that the mode append option was supposed to add sheets to an existing workbook

I ran into the same problem. The current published version of the extension is f4c72b5. The multiple sheets writer was added in 65a104f (the very next commit on the repo) but a new release wasn't built with the new code. This leads to the documentation on the extension page to be out of sync with what is distributed.

Emanuele B. ok i was suspecting that might have been the case, but the build number was a lot harder to track down. I'm not super great on back tracking those things.

I was half expecting using the mode param was going to throw up if it wasnt there 🙂

I'm not sure. Sorry. It looks like something is stuck on the release pipeline for the extension.

Thanks for jumping in, Emanuale! DuckDB Discord is a great place if people wants to raise to the DuckDB team to pin the new extension version.
