Hello,
We've been looking into MotherDuck lately, but naturally we keep comparing it to our current classical data stack: BigQuery + dbt.
From what I've gathered so far, MotherDuck seems to follow a different philosophy. While it is technically possible to pair dbt Core with MotherDuck (dbt Cloud integration not being available yet), I'm not sure dbt is actually the natural fit here.
So my question is: if dbt isn't the go-to transformation tool in the MotherDuck ecosystem, what do teams typically use instead? And how do they maintain structure and governance at scale?
My assumptions are based on the MotherDuck documentation and a few conversations with Claude.
PS: And sorry if I am on the wrong channel for this kind of question
