Seen in Bologna. An unproductive duck can only be a real duck, not a DuckDB related one I think.

In a pet project I used DuckDB, which could easily be replaced by MotherDuck when going full cloud. Very impressed by DuckDB it is almost comically performant in a good way. In a pet project I use Python, DuckDB and dbt for the data engineering part, but the not so Open Source Power BI for data visualization. Is this as the Dutch say “cursing in the Open Source church” or is this a pretty common combination? Especially the fact that the semantic model supports ‘relations’ and the presence of the DAX-query language make it hard to beat in my opinion, but of course I could be dead wrong. Any succes stories with DuckDB and open source data visualization tools AND business analysts as the ‘customer’?
