🦆 DuckDB 2.0 is officially here and it’s heading to MotherDuck! 🚀
DuckDB 2.0 was officially released today (read the announcement here), and our team is actively preparing it across all MotherDuck workloads and customer environments.
Here is what you need to know about the rollout timeline:
⚙️ Late November 2026 - 2.0 Engine Availability: You will get the latest feature and performance upgrades automatically with zero effort required. All newly created Ducklings will launch with the DuckDB 2.0 engine out of the box.
📦 Shortly After - 2.0 Storage Format: Advanced capabilities that depend on the updated storage architecture, including triggers, nested schemas, index improvements, and full VARIANT performance gains, will go live once the new storage format rolls out.
