i don't believe we have this today. Private link and exposing static set of ips are on our radar, and i've bumped the issue internally. i don't think support for external_id and account id has been mentioned before. Feel free to file a feature request at https://motherduck.canny.io/

seems like snowflake lets you query for the metadata json location as well https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/functions/system_get_iceberg_table_information

if you're able to keep track of the metadata.json files, you can read an iceberg table via those too

I see. There seems to be experimental Glue support https://github.com/duckdb/dbt-duckdb?tab=readme-ov-file#installation, and MotherDuck also supports reading iceberg tables in general. Afaik you might be the first one to try this combination out. Let's follow up if you run into any issues!
